As with the Plendelhof treehouse, the Wencke house construction also resembles a boat, with its economical use of space and cosy atmosphere. Incorporated in the sofa-bed and bench are three small and two large drawers – one for each member of the family. Two of the drawers can also be used as tables. The lighting, a small, functional ‘kitchenette’ and soft grey upholstery provide both a cosy atmosphere and a touch of luxury.

From a lying position on the comfortable sofa there is a view through the skylight to the topmost branches. The glazed apex and the long side windows present an almost panoramic view and allow nature to be observed at close quarters throughout the seasons.

A small heater and the insulated walls, floor and ceiling provide a warm, cosy atmosphere for the whole family even in winter. During the spring and summer the south-facing terrace, at 3.60 metres above ground, offers a splendid view across the nearby meadows and the countryside beyond.
