This exclusively sculptured space floats over a garden pond in our customer’s house near Osnabrück. The client wanted a space where he could enjoy time and play with his grandchildren. In the beginning, the assignment was a house in the trees. But on further exploration of the location, the distinctively singular situation of having a pond was taken into account and became a possibility which further on in the pre-design phase was chosen as the best and final location.
The environment is elegantly reflected on the elaborately finished bronze-colored stainless steel façade, changing colors depending on the surrounding light conditions. The pond house rests lightly on a dynamically shaped dark gray-colored concrete foundation.
The interior of the tree house is strongly influenced by the material oak. The minimalist furnishing is composed of a spacious seating area, a sideboard and a small wooden table. Due to the obliquely cut skylight, when the sky is clear, one can lie down and look directly to the stars. Another special attraction, is a horizontal glass surface at the end of the interior lying surface. Here, visitors can look directly down at the water surface of the pond.
